Tradewind Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Sheffield on a two-week paternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher to join a supportive school and provide high-quality teaching across the secondary age range, including Key Stage 5.

The Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5, ensuring that students continue to make strong progress during the period of cover.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Following and adapting existing schemes of work and lesson plans where appropriate.
• Teaching engaging, challenging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintaining high expectations of student behaviour, achievement and progress.
• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.
• Supporting students in preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
• Working collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school staff.
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and attainment where required.
• Ensuring a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
• Experience teaching up to KS5/A-Level Maths.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging Maths lessons.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
• The ability to quickly establish positive relationships with students and staff.
• Flexibility and adaptability when working within a short-term cover placement.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind Education.
