The Position

Market Solutions Lead

A healthier future. It's what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That's what makes us Roche.

Healthcare is evolving, and Global Procurement is responding by continuously striving for the highest possible performance, taking innovative and strategic approaches to business and supplier partnerships. Global Procurement proactively manages the entire supplier ecosystem, making a vital contribution to improving health outcomes, reducing costs for patients and global healthcare systems, and ensuring that Roche continues doing now what patients need next.

The Opportunity

This role sits within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter, which encompasses a number of different strategic and innovative teams. Our purpose is to guide strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, govern compliance and drive sustainability to deliver continuous improvement and strengthen Global Procurement's impact on the wider Roche organization.

As a Market Solutions Lead your role will be to guide a x-category team in co-creating innovative market solutions to tackle Roche's business challenges. Your team will leverage market expertise and solution development know-how to design and implement approaches that go beyond traditional procurement. These solutions could address pain points such as releasing time for teams with a supplier enabled process, improving asset utilisation, or driving better decision making and working in collaboration with senior leaders, suppliers and internal developers. You will deliver measurable value through external innovation and market/supplier-driven solutions, services, or guidance, extending beyond cost savings.

You will lead a medium to large sized team, guiding resource allocation, prioritisation and planning to deliver on objectives.

As a Market Solutions Lead you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to these core responsibilities:

  • Lead your solutions team in a dynamic global environment, to manage and deliver the portfolio of solutions/projects that drive value beyond traditional procurement approaches for business customers.

  • Balance and identify resources to optimise impact; work with the team, networks, and squads to determine the roles needed to deliver and have an impact.

  • Develop and deliver market and supplier-driven solutions to meet customer needs and business challenges, seeking external market innovation and expertise by leveraging your specialized knowledge, strategic thinking, and ability to convert opportunities into tangible value.

  • Identify and clarify business customer problem statements/opportunities in collaboration with GP colleagues, and seek opportunities to accelerate value realisation.

  • Develop and lead the identification, refinement, and management of solution frameworks, tools, and realisation approach.

  • Influence and lead business stakeholders to align on and co-create solutions, leveraging insights generation, innovation, storytelling, and collaboration.

  • Experience and interest across a broad range of business/category areas considered a benefit, e.g. External Workforce, Commercial, R&D.

  • It is envisioned that the focus area of this role will be x-category, however, this focus area may evolve based on future market opportunities and changing customer needs and priorities.

Who you are:

  • You hold a University degree in business or life science preferred

  • You have an advanced level of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or consulting.

  • A strategic leader who fosters team development, drives aligned outcomes, and demonstrates proven experience in delivering strategies, market expertise, and innovation across diverse categories or markets, underpinned by robust business cases.

  • You are an astute communicator with strong presentation skills and who collaborates with stakeholders to understand needs. You can make decisions and influence others to do the same; you repurpose work and ideas in favor of starting from scratch.

  • You are an enterprise thinker, leveraging business understanding and technical expertise to create solutions for business customers; proactively fostering collaboration across Roche, (including across the procurement network) to connect the dots

  • You have proven leadership experience preferably in a matrix organisation

  • You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge, while being receptive to ideas and feedback from others.

  • You are fluent in English to a Business level.

Join our team and enable the strong capability expertise needed to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
