Do you have experience managing a busy market or leading teams in the retail sector? An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage one of Manchester's most dynamic and diverse marketplaces - Longsight Market.
We're looking for a community-focused leader with proven management experience to take charge of the day-to-day running of the market, ensuring it remains a thriving hub for local traders, shoppers, and visitors. As Market Manager, you'll work closely with the Operations Manager to deliver the goals of the Market's business plan, while making sure the site is safe, welcoming, and compliant with all relevant policies and legislation.
You'll be hands on, leading and inspiring a dedicated team of six staff members including an Assistant Manager and five Environmental Operatives, and spending much of your time outdoors, whatever the weather, supporting your team, engaging with traders, and ensuring the smooth running of the market.
But this role is more than just managing the day to day. It's about connecting with people, building relationships with traders, community groups, local councillors, and helping Longsight Market grow as a vibrant part of the local economy. You'll also play a key role in promoting the market through social media and other channels, celebrating its unique character and attracting new visitors.
