Job Description

Broadreach Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading organisation at the heart of the UK marine industry to appoint aTechnical Advisor

This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in supporting the leisure, superyacht, and small commercial marine sectors throughtechnical guidance, regulatory insight, and industry engagement.

The Role

You will act as a key point of contact for technical matters, supporting both industry stakeholders and wider regulatory engagement. The role combinestechnical expertise, policy awareness, and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance ontechnical standards, regulations, and compliance frameworks
  • Supporting industry engagement withgovernment agencies and regulatory bodies
  • Contributing totechnical policy, consultation responses, and working groups
  • Engaging with member organisations to support operational and compliance challenges
  • Translating complex technical requirements intoclear, practical advice
Technical Scope

The role will involve working across a broad regulatory landscape, including:

  • Recreational Craft Directive (RCD)
  • ISO Standards
  • MCA Codes
  • Boat Safety Scheme
About You

We are seeking a technically capable and commercially aware individual with:

  • A degree inengineering, marine, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding ofregulatory frameworks and technical standards
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders
  • Confidence presenting and representing technical viewpoints in professional settings
  • A structured, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capability
