Are you a practical, hands-on individual who takes pride in making a real difference behind the scenes?At our Glasgow Hospice,we are currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team. Our Maintenance Assistants play a vital role in creating a safe,welcomingand well-maintained environment for patients, families,visitorsand colleagues every day.

What you will be doing:

No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. From carrying out essential safety and compliance checks,monitoringplant rooms and oxygen systems, and responding to maintenance issues, to coordinating contractors, supporting hospiceoperationsand working closely with clinical and administrative teams,you'llbe at the heart of keeping our hospice running smoothly.You'llalso play an important part in supporting sensitive end-of-life processes with professionalism,dignityand respect, ensuring our patients and families receive the highest standard of care and support.

Whatwe'relooking for:

• Recent and relevant maintenance experience, or a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant trade.
• A full, current UK driving licence.
• Confident using computers and digital systems to complete records,auditsand maintenance documentation.
• An appreciation of modern building management and maintenance systems, and a willingness to learnnew technologies.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and their application within a workplace environment.
• A good understanding of health and safety responsibilities and safe working practices.
• Awareness of risk assessment processes and the importance ofidentifyingand managing risks effectively.
• Strong communicationskills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues,contractorsand external stakeholders.
• A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a supportive working environment.
• A commitment to delivering a high standard of service in a caring and professional hospice environment.
