Job summary

Seeking a Manufacturing Specialist with experience in NPI, R&D, and DfMA to lead manufacturing capabilities in a UK-based engineering consultancy specializing in electronics, RF systems, and sensing technologies.

The Role

The successful candidate will drive manufacturing strategy, manage external partners, and oversee transfer of complex electronic products into production, including PCB assemblies and mechanical enclosures. Responsibilities include:

• Define and develop internal manufacturing processes.
• Lead DfMA and transfer-to-manufacture efforts.
• Oversee prototype and volume production both in the UK and internationally.
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and supply chain partners.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and quality teams.
• Support clients from design to scaled production.
• Ensure compliance and documentation, especially in regulated sectors like aerospace or defence.

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing, SMT, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience across full product development lifecycle in low-to-mid volume environments.
• Ability to manage suppliers and manufacturing readiness.
• Guidance through concept-to-production workflows.
• Familiarity with MOD, aerospace, or space sector standards (e.g., AS9100, ESA/ECSS) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
