Job Description:

What you'll do as a Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Team Leader:

You will join the team to develop, improve, and support the operations manufacturing processes and equipment, enabling world-class production of Leonardo products.

• Ensure the development of manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; understanding feedback from Leonardo operators; conferring with equipment vendors or external suppliers.
• Lead and deliver OEE - Overall Equipment Effectiveness, ensuring that an OEE approach is in place and that the equipment team participates effectively in uptime/utilization data analysis.
• Advise and participate in improving policies and processes within the operations framework.
• Ensure the team delivers technically sound solutions meeting all stakeholder requirements.
• Assure product and process quality by designing methods; validating/verifying process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Lead failure investigations using known problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D).
• Ensure maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment, with effective internal and external calibration plans, and that TPM is scheduled.
• Maintain effective documentation, including working with Manufacturing on General Risk Assessments, maintenance schedules, process checklists, critical spares, and obsolescence reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements by overseeing contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Design facility layouts, including storage for jigs & fixtures, and plan effective EPA/ESD arrangements and 5S implementation.
• Complete improvement and development projects by coaching and mentoring the manufacturing equipment engineer community.

What we need from you:

• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
• People management & leadership skills, including performance management, change management, and development of self and others.
• Experience managing a multidisciplinary manufacturing equipment engineering team, with ability to own work packages, plan, and schedule workloads.
• Experience peer reviewing work within product teams and implementing actions.
• HND (or higher) in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proven achievement in delivering work packages within an engineering discipline.
• Experience in peer reviewing and implementing resulting actions.
• Knowledge of multiple phases of the Product Life Cycle and associated processes.
