The Role
As Manufacturing Digital Lean Specialist, you'll be hands-on in designing, developing and improving Bodycote's proprietary digital platform that drives operational performance across 130+ plants globally. Built by the Excellence Office and expanding rapidly, the platform is at the heart of how we run our operations.
This role fits somebody with an Operational or Operational Excellence background who developed a strong IT affinity along the way - ideally a self-starter who digitalized or automated processes as a bottom-up initiative and is now ready to apply that mindset at global scale.
Key Accountabilities
Lean & Operational Excellence
Engage with plant teams to understand operational needs and identify digitalization opportunities.
Guide local teams on where and how to benefit from digitalization and redesign processes accordingly.
Digital Transformation
Design, develop, and improve platform modules spanning process automation, dashboards, analytics, and self-learning capabilities.
Work on data integrations between the platform and plant systems to ensure reliable, real-time operational data across the network.
Change Management & Adoption
Drive platform adoption across plants - onboard users, build trust, and champion a data-driven culture.
Translate operational feedback into platform improvements and contribute to the Digital Lean roadmap.
Who We're Looking For
Required
5+ years of experience in Operations, Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, or process design.
Proven digital fluency: built, configured, or significantly shaped a digital tool or system.
Practical experience with programming and databases (ideally JavaScript, Node.js, MySQL).
Sound understanding of ERP and MRP systems principles.
Fluent English.
Preferred
Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Industrial Management, IT, or related discipline
Background in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent skill set
Experience with industrial IoT
Familiarity with ML/AI applications in both software features and software development
