Manufacturing Consultant

The Company

We are looking for a hands-on manufacturing consultant to work directly on site at a manufacturing client based in Kent.

The contract is outside IR35 and it will initially run for 2-months with possibility for extension. We also need someone 5-days on-site.

The Role

The role is about engaging with real, day-to-day operational issues and turning them into clear improvement opportunities. There is significant value to unlock, but it needs someone with focus, structure and an analytical mindset to find it and deliver it.

This is not a desk-based role. The consultant will spend time on the factory floor, working closely with operations, engineering and site leadership to understand problems, analyse root causes and help shape practical, workable solutions.

Key requirements:

• Strong background in manufacturing or operations, ideally within food, FMCG or process-driven environments.
• Proven experience working on site in factories, comfortable engaging with frontline teams and supervisors.
• Analytical and structured thinker who can turn messy, practical issues into clear insights and actions.
• Experience in continuous improvement, productivity, waste reduction or operational performance.
• Confident communicator who can challenge constructively and build trust on the ground.
• Self-starter with the focus to prioritise the right problems and drive them through to impact.
