Your new role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will join the commercial team responsible for supporting the delivery of overhead line and electrical transmission projects. You will play a key role in maximising project profitability, managing commercial risk and ensuring robust contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of projects from award through to final account
- Supporting the preparation of reports, claims and commercial documentation
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Maintaining risk registers and supporting risk mitigation strategies
- Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts, including procurement, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
- Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events and change management
- Identifying and recovering variations, delays and associated claims
- Producing accurate cost reporting, forecasting and cost/value reconciliations
- Building strong working relationships with Project Managers and key stakeholders
- Attending project meetings and maintaining detailed commercial records
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and company procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor role
- Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
- Experience managing subcontractors and supplier accounts
- Contract costing and cost/value reconciliation experience
- Experience capturing site records to support variations and valuations
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desirable experience includes:
- Electrical Transmission or Overhead Lines experience
- Infrastructure, utilities or energy sector project experience
