Oliver James is partnering with a leading international re-insurer to appoint an experienced ALM Modelling Manager. This position sits within a specialist actuarial systems function, working alongside pricing, corporate actuarial, investment, and infrastructure teams to design, enhance, and maintain sophisticated ALM models that support risk management, capital planning, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the ongoing development, maintenance, and optimisation of ALM modelling tools and associated processes.
Manage the full model lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, creating technical specifications, implementing updates, testing, and releasing changes.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across actuarial and non-actuarial areas.
Produce and update technical documentation, process notes, and user guides to ensure knowledge is shared effectively.
Identify and deliver improvements to model performance, process automation, and workflow efficiency.
Contribute to wider change initiatives and strategic projects within the actuarial systems team.

Experience Required:
Qualified actuary with at least five years' experience in life insurance or life reinsurance.
Strong technical background in ALM and asset modelling, ideally with familiarity in FIS Prophet (including ALS and US360 libraries) and Enterprise Manager.
Solid understanding of asset classes, liability structures, portfolio optimisation, hedging strategies, and market risk drivers.
Programming or scripting skills such as Python, SQL, R, or VBA are an advantage.
Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and strong communication skills.
Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects and deliver to agreed timescales.
Track record of challenging and improving existing processes.
Experience working with Agile methodologies is desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong actuary to take a leadership role in advancing ALM modelling capability within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
