Job Summary: We're seeking an experienced Manager to oversee the management and development of local tourism and leisure amenities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working across tourism, events, and community projects.
Role PurposeThe Manager will lead all aspects of operational management, tourism promotion, and business development. The role focuses on delivering high-quality visitor experiences, supporting local initiatives, and developing new tourism offerings.
Main ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of tourism and recreational facilities
Manage staff, rostering, and compliance requirements
Develop and market tourism and leisure packages
Coordinate local festivals, events, and community programmes
Implement safety, training, and inspection procedures
Prepare reports, funding applications, and business plans
Manage marketing, social media, and promotional content
Collaborate with local service providers and partners
Identify opportunities for new amenities and tourism experiences
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven management or project coordination experience
Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills
Knowledge of tourism, leisure, or hospitality operations
Excellent IT and administrative abilities
Experience in marketing, sales, or community development
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Desirable
Experience writing funding applications or business plans
Track record of innovation and project delivery
Full driving licence and access to transport
Flexibility to work outside standard hours (TOIL applies)
Salary: Based on qualifications and experience
Contract: 1 year (renewable based on performance)
Probation: 6 months
Hours: 9:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required)
Annual Leave: 20 days plus public holidays
Travel: Expenses reimbursed at the prevailing rate
