Management Accountant - German Speaking

Reed Finance is delighted to be partnering with a global organisation to recruit an experienced and detail-driven German Speaking Management Accountant to support their Regional and Head Office finance functions.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, this is a pivotal role where you will take ownership of core management accounting processes, ensure accurate reporting, and act as a key finance contact for the German region. You will work closely with both UK colleagues and the wider EMEA finance team to deliver high-quality financial information and drive operational efficiency.

MUST BE FLUENT IN GERMAN TO AT LEAST AN INTERMEDIATE/BUSINESS LEVEL

Duties Include:

• Manage the purchase ledger and maintain accurate financial transactions within the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L and variance analysis.
• Complete account reconciliations and month-end close tasks (prepayments, accruals, fixed assets).
• Post and reconcile IFRS16 leases.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and contribute to consolidation/reporting packages.
• Produce rolling cash forecasts.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations (including German GAAP - HAB).
• Prepare monthly payroll for the German region.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis for the wider business.
• Support audit processes and maintain robust financial records.
• Collaborate closely with regional finance teams to resolve intercompany issues and ensure alignment of financial data across regions.
• Act as the primary finance contact for the German region, providing reliable and timely financial information.

Requirements:

• Fluency in German is essential due to the regional scope of the role.
• Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with substantial amount of experience
• Extensive finance experience with strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Experience in accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple countries.

Salary & Benefits:
