Job Description
Major Main Contractor - Senior Project Manager

An amazing opportunity has arisen to join one of the most well-regarded Main Contractors in the U.K.

Typical project size £5 - £30 Million with works in the High End Residential, Educational, Health, and Commercial with certain projects being well in excess of that.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of leading/developing a team
  • Knowledge of budgets and costing, including project forecasting and control
  • Knowledge of contract documentation
  • Excellent Project/programme Management skills
  • Ability to resource projects
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively plan
Commercial

Commercial Responsibilities:
Understands the requirements of the project and ensures that all contract administration/procedures are undertaken.
Input into risk/opportunity register. Include exceptional risks/opportunities into project Business Plan and initiate actions to mitigate risks/opportunities.
Control and manage site/project budgets including profit and loss plus budget constraints.
Develop, control, and ensure delivery against the project budgets including profit, preliminaries, procurements, etc.

Design

Design Responsibilities:
Interpret and analyse design information, recommend alternative design solutions, and ensure inaccuracies and missing information are addressed.
Ensure measures are established for the timely delivery of design information.

People

People Responsibilities:
Understands and develops the agreed strategy conceived in the bid phase for project delivery.
Actively participates and takes ownership in developing customer and project solutions during the tender stage and represents the company at all stages of the process.

Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Responsibilities:
Contribute to the supply chain selection process and provide regular feedback and manage supply chain performance.
Agree requirements for time, cost, and quality aspects of trade contractor packages.

Customers

Customer Responsibilities:
Identify and manage the relationships with customers, project teams, tenants, and community representatives.

Delivery

Delivery Responsibilities:
Develop and implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progress, and implement actions to achieve targeted performance.
Identify the quality expectations and embrace these in the Quality Plan. Implement measures to ensure compliance with the customer requirements and project business plan.
Develop and implement site establishment and ensure the efficient and effective management of site logistics.
Implement all statutory regulatory and company requirements for managing Health and Safety. Ensure compliance with H & S plan.
Implement all statutory, regulatory, and company requirements for environmental and waste management. Ensure compliance with project Environmental and Waste Management Plans.
Secure and manage the appropriate resources to deliver the project/scheme effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constraints.
Identify, communicate to the team the requirements, and put measures in place to ensure the successful handover of the project. Including support to customer/end-user throughout the handover process.
Establish a communications plan including information management procedures for the project and agree accountabilities for team members.
Manage and discharge all regulatory requirements with regard to planning and building regulations approvals.
