Maintenance Projects Team Manager

Southern England £44.4k - £55.5k per annum (Dependent on skills & qualifications)

An opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.

The successful candidate will be managing a number of operational contract teams who carry out main laying, governor replacement and civil activities on our transmission and distribution assets. They will also possess the ability to manage their teams to safely deliver excellent operational performance across large geographical areas.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in Operational emergency standby duties.

I help to keep people safe and warm by

  • Safe delivery of all projects within Southern Maintenance project portfolio including tasks to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and SGN procedural requirements
  • Ownership and completion of specific projects
  • Robust costings of projects ensuring SGN get value for money
  • Management of our material storage locations ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Conduct safety and quality audits and inspections of teams and contractors to maintain high standards of personal and operational safety
  • Driving performance with a pro active and visible management style
  • Providing engineering support to input to the other Operational and Network functions as required.
What you'll need
  • An extensive knowledge of the gas industry, legislation, and related health and safety policies and procedures is essential.
  • An understanding of the operation of Pressure Reduction Stations and associated equipment.
  • A passion for operational and personal safety
  • An understanding of financial approvals and controls for operational and project engineering
  • Highly motivated with a flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Good leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem solving skills and be able to act on your own initiative.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, within and beyond your own team.
  • A full clean UK Driving License is essential for this role.
