Maintenance Manager

Hybrid (50% site-based / 50% home based) - Midlands-based

Are you a hands-on, strategic leader ready to drive operational excellence in a rapidly growing fibre network? We're looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead our regional maintenance operations-ensuring outstanding service reliability, team performance, and customer satisfaction.

In this hybrid role, you'll split your time between the field and working remotely, managing people, processes, and performance to keep our fibre infrastructure running at its best.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and scale a high-performing regional Maintenance team with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement
  • Maximise network uptime through proactive maintenance strategies and infrastructure enhancements
  • Design and implement region-specific preventive maintenance schedules
  • Ensure adequate resource coverage and operational readiness across the region
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Build, Installations, and other teams to maintain seamless network operations
  • Manage subcontractor partnerships and uphold SLA performance
  • Lead major incident response efforts with clarity and control
  • Oversee the successful handover of new build areas into the Maintenance team
  • Monitor and report KPIs, team progress, and improvement initiatives weekly
  • Support and develop field-based Network Owners to align local action with strategic goals

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading maintenance or operations teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure-especially FTTP PON builds
  • Strong knowledge of Openreach protocols and standards (highly desirable)
  • Must be based in the Birmingham area or wider Midlands region
