Maintenance Electrician

A healthcare facility near Macclesfield Railway Station is seeking a skilled maintenance electrician to join their Estates Department on a temporary contract for 1 month, with the possibility of extension. The role offers £18.00 per hour PAYE or £22.50 per hour limited, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, totalling 37.5 hours per week.

This essential role involves maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical systems and equipment vital to healthcare operations.

• The maintenance electrician will perform PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical installations, including low-voltage systems, emergency standby alternators (400V), fire alarms, automatic doors, and access control systems.
• Test and commission electrical equipment following repairs or installation in compliance with hospital technical memorandums, health & safety, and building regulations.
• Diagnose and resolve faults using cause-effect analysis on complex electrical systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Ensure safe isolation and changeover of electrical plants during malfunctions or breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job sheets, and test certificates.
• Liaise with departmental managers, clinical staff, contractors, and suppliers regarding electrical faults and required materials.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency repairs and on-call duties.
• Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) according to safety regulations.
• Undertake or be prepared to undertake relevant Competent Person (CP) responsibilities such as Electrical Low Voltage Systems (LV) and GAS SAFE registration if applicable.
• Follow detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and safety codes.

The maintenance electrician will be based near Macclesfield Railway Station, Macclesfield, SK10 1JE.

Temporary contract for 1 month, with potential for extension.

£18.00 per hour PAYE / £22.50 per hour limited.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (37.5 hours per week).
