About this job

We're looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our hotel. You'll play a key role behind the scenes, ensuring everything from guest rooms to public areas is well maintained, safe and fully operational. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll support both preventative and reactive maintenance, helping to deliver a high quality environment that enhances the overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities
  • Carrying out a range of maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and minor electrical work.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance issues across guest rooms, public areas and back of house spaces.
  • Supporting preventative maintenance programmes to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working order.
  • Conducting regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing and compliance checks.
  • Identifying and escalating any safety risks or defects promptly.
  • Working collaboratively with all departments to support smooth hotel operations.
About You

You're hands on, dependable and take pride in your work. You enjoy problem solving and keeping things running smoothly in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience in a maintenance or similar hands on role (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, decorating or repairs.
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • A commitment to health, safety and compliance standards.
  • A positive, can do attitude and flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
