Your Role:

We're looking for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to work at our sites in Sheffield and Pudsey.

You'll be the first point of contact for facilities-related queries, coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring contractors, and helping manage our facilities database and reporting systems. You'll also play an important role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our colleagues and visitors across our Sheffield sites.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, on-site, Monday - Friday plus participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Location:

Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW - located just off Junction 35A of the M1. We offer free car parking.

Your main responsibilities:
  • Supporting the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of site facilities
  • Responding to facilities and maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Managing and updating the Facilities Database and job tracking systems
  • Coordinating contractors and welcoming them on-site to oversee planned works
  • Managing contractor documentation, including permits and safe working procedures
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Maintaining accurate facilities records and supporting reporting activities
  • Taking part in site safety tours and managing follow-up actions
  • Promoting health and safety compliance across the site
  • Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota to support urgent facilities issues, with additional on-call and overtime payments available
What you need to succeed:
  • Experience within a facilities, maintenance, engineering support, or similar environment
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Experience coordinating contractors or external service providers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
