Job Location: London Job Type: Permanent Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical & Special Risks Loss Adjuster in the United Kingdom As a Loss Adjuster specialising in Technical and Special Risks, you will manage complex, high value, and technically challenging claims across a wide range of industries. From plant and machinery breakdowns and cyber related losses to specialist liabilities and non standard risks, you will take ownership of claims where expertise, judgement, and precision matter most. This role goes beyond standard adjusting. You will investigate the cause, circumstances, and quantum of losses, engaging with insureds, brokers, insurers, engineers, forensic specialists, and legal teams to reach fair, accurate, and defensible outcomes. You'll be trusted to interpret technical evidence, challenge assumptions, and apply policy cover thoughtfully while keeping all parties informed throughout the claim lifecycle. Imagine stepping into critical situations where businesses face significant disruption or financial exposure. You'll be the composed professional guiding clients through uncertainty, translating complex technical detail into clear explanations, and steering claims toward resolution with confidence and authority. Key skills and experience- Specialist loss adjusting experience: Proven experience handling technical, complex, or non standard claims, including specialist property, engineering, business interruption, or emerging risk classes.
- Strong technical judgement: Ability to analyse complex information, interpret policy coverage, and assess quantum accurately and independently.
- Excellent communication skills: Confidence in engaging with policyholders, insurers, brokers, engineers, and legal professionals, explaining complex matters clearly and credibly.
- Organisation and resilience: Ability to manage multiple complex claims while maintaining quality, accuracy, and deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Advanced technical expertise: Ongoing development across technical and special risk classes through structured learning and hands on experience.
- Professional qualifications: Full support towards Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) qualifications and continued professional development.
