Amazon offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of Logistics Specialists dedicated to providing customers with world class service. We operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure in the UK and are seeking a bright, motivated, hardworking, self starting individual to join our team as a Logistics Specialist in the Greater Western London area.
The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. The role requires frequent lifting (up to 18-20 kg) and manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping, arranging shipments, and coordinating daily delivery schedules to multiple locations. Duties include unpacking incoming shipments, verifying contents, maintaining precise records of all commodities, and ensuring adherence to production processes, safety standards, and quality levels.
Additionally, the Logistics Specialist may need to travel up to 50 % of the time within 30 miles of London Heathrow Airport and could potentially travel internationally to support other regions.
Key Job Responsibilities- Work closely with Data Centre Operations Technicians, Data Centre Engineers, rack install, infrastructure delivery and other internal teams to fulfill parts quickly and accurately.
- Coordinate all inbound/outbound deliveries, liaise with vendors, couriers/carriers, transportation and inventory planning teams.
- Receive and ship parts logically and physically, ensuring the inventory management system is up to date and accurate at all times.
- Receipt and stowing of all inventory and non inventory items on the procurement system and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.
- Execute stock re balancing through transfers between locations locally and globally to maximize stock utilization and availability.
- Responsible for inventory management, regular cycle counts, customer oriented storage space optimization, cleanliness, organization and safety of all workspace.
- Ad hoc analysis and projects based on business needs.
- Reverse logistics (RMA); interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements.
- Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics.
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
- Experience using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Can lift loads of up to 20 kg and carry them for short distances.
- Experience working in data centres with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
- Experience with shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.
- Experience in operations or inventory management.
- Experience with database administration.
- Experience managing projects.
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines, and experience with domestic or international travel coordination.
