Lead a key logistics function that keeps our operations moving. You will inspire your team, champion safety and drive improvements, ensuring the right materials, equipment and facilities are available to support successful delivery.

What You will do

• Lead, inspire and develop the logistics team, creating an engaged, high-performing environment where safety, competence and continuous development are at the heart of everything you do.
• Keep operations moving by ensuring the right levels of stock, materials, plant and equipment are available when needed, while managing stores and compounds safely and efficiently.
• Drive smarter, more efficient ways of working, identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability, productivity and asset performance while reducing waste and managing disposal responsibly.
• Maintain the reliability of plant, tools and equipment, overseeing maintenance and calibration requirements and identifying recurring defects to support effective operational delivery.
• Ensure buildings and facilities are maintained to the required standards, acting as the client for accommodation and building projects and helping create safe, effective working environments.
• Champion a strong safety culture, delivering safety tours and staff surveillance while continually improving the management of plant, equipment, materials and facilities.

Your experience and skills

• Knowledge of logistics processes and techniques
• Knowledge of plant and tools specification
• Knowledge of Environmental Legislation
• Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
• Good communication and organisation skills
• Knowledge of relevant Company IT systems
• Knowledge of operational railway
• Knowledge of contractual arrangements with suppliers
• Good understanding of maintenance processes and delivery techniques
