Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust wishes to invite applications for the post of a Locum Consultant Radiologist with a Specialist Interest in Breast Imaging.

The u nit provides Breast Symptomatic services to the local population and is acknowledged as a flagship service for the Trust with an outstanding local reputation for providing a high quality and comprehensive service.

The successful candidate would be joining a cohesive and motivated team of Consultant Breast Radiologists, The post is for 1 PA every 2 weeks with no on call requirement for 6 months

Main duties of the job

JOB SUMMARY:

This job is for a locum Consultant Radiologist with a Specialist Interest in Breast Imaging. The job is a full time post comprising of 1 Programmed Activities (PAs) every 2 weeks

PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide a full General Radiology service for the Trust with a special interest in BreastScreening and Symptomatic imaging.

Audit & Clinical Governance

A half day per month is dedicated to audit and teaching. All elective work is cancelled for this session and staff are expected to attend and participate as part of clinical governance and audit arrangements. There is also a learning and discrepancy meeting. All CPD requirements must be met.

Directorate Consultant meetings are held monthly and are chaired by the Clinical Lead.

Teaching

The general radiology department are currently hosting radiology trainees from the Kent,Surrey and Surrey Deanery.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration
  • FRCR or equivalent registration
  • Entry on Specialist Register (CCT or entry expected within 6 months of interview date)
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to Radiology e.g.: IR(ME)R 2000
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Knowledge of RCR Professional code of Conduct
  • Knowledge of the latest RCR and NICE guidance
  • A wide grounding during training of all aspects of General Radiology including cross sectional imaging CT, MRI & Ultrasound
  • Experience of teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and trainee specialists
  • Understand principles and participated in audit activity
  • Understand the principles of Clinical Governance and demonstrate experience of evidence based practice
  • Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and Radiological problems
  • Experience in breast Radiology
  • Able to evaluate own Radiological practice
  • Able to demonstrate innovative thinking
  • Be able to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to organise and develop service provision
  • Able to manage own time effectively and prioritise work accordingly
Person specification Experience
