Locum Consultant Subspecialist in Urogynaecology

University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a one year fixed term locum Consultant in Urogynaecology (10 PAs). We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual with experience of Urogynaecology who wishes to join our well established and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will play a key role in delivering a responsive and patient centred care, supporting patients throughout their treatment journey while maintaining consistently high standards of care and patient experience. The role will include Saturday operating and may involve adjustments to the job plan dependent on theatre and clinic space availability.
Main duties of the job- Deliver consultant led outpatient care in Urogynaecology clinics.
- Deliver consultant led surgical lists for Urogynaecology patients.
- Provide assessment and outpatient management of patients with Urogynaecological conditions.
- Support clinical decision making, care planning, and appropriate follow up for patients.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to MDT discussions.
- Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of resident doctors.
- Engage in service governance and clinical audit activities.
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings, contributing to service development, clinical guidelines, and best practice.
- Work collaboratively across UCLH and WMS sites.
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC.
- CCT or equivalent, confirmed by the GMC.
- MRCOG or equivalent.
- Subspecialty training in urogynaecology.
- Clinical expertise in the management of women with pelvic floor symptoms, including recurrent prolapse and incontinence.
- Specialist interest within urogynaecology that complements the skills of the existing team.
- Clinical training and experience in gynaecology equivalent to UK CCT level.
- Extensive clinical experience in urogynaecology.
- Evidence of expertise in the assessment and management of prolapse and incontinence.
- Proven skills in urogynaecological surgery.
- Competence in the management of gynaecological emergencies, including surgery.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding to patients with distressing symptoms.
- Provision of holistic, person centred care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English.
- Evidence of engagement in clinical audit and quality improvement activity.
- Proven leadership and management skills to support the development of the service.
- Clear understanding of the governance framework underpinning modern clinical practice in urogynaecology.
- Ability to adopt the use of electronic patient management systems in the care of patients.
- Evidence of commitment to education, training, and teaching.
- Evidence of research in the field of urogynaecology.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£109,725 to £145,478 a year per annum + London weighting (on call Cat A 3%).
