Position DetailsStart date: 1st August 2025 for one year.
Applications are invited for a full-time locum Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia at the Royal Hospital for Children.
Contract and ResponsibilitiesThe post is a 10PA contract, involving responsibilities in general and emergency theatres. The 'on call' commitment is 1 in 20, providing out-of-hours emergency cover on the RHC site.
Team and DepartmentThe successful candidate will join 26 Anaesthetic consultants providing on-call coverage for the general rota. The department also includes a cardiac anaesthetic rota with 5 paediatric cardiac anaesthetists, alongside advanced paediatric anaesthesia trainees, post-CCT Fellows, and specialty trainees from the West of Scotland Training Scheme.
Eligibility and ExperienceApplicants must be eligible for full GMC registration, either already on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of receiving their CCT at interview. Significant previous paediatric anaesthetic experience is required.
