The vision for ENT at Manchester Foundation Trust is to work closely across Manchester as part of the Greater Manchester ENT team including strengthening links with Manchester Royal Infirmary, Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General.

The Ear, Nose and Throat Department is a busy and dynamic tertiary level centre, working as a single service across the Macclesfield and Wythenshawe Hospital sites. We provide ENT surgical care to patients from across Greater Manchester and beyond. We are a centre of excellence for Head and Neck cancer as well as providing services for complex voice and airway and other tertiary level otology, rhinology and laryngology services.

Main duties of the job

We are passionate about providing first-class care to our patients and focused on delivering treatment in a quality and timely manner. We are recruiting to the position of Locum ENT Consultant (Generalist) to join our team of clinicians for 6 months.

As an experienced ENT clinician, you will provide outpatient services to the full range of ENT patient cohorts, ranging from two-week wait to routine. You will have knowledge and practical surgical experience in treating Head and Neck, Otology and Rhinology patients. You will contribute to the out of hours on-call rota.

You will also help train the next generation of ENT clinicians by engaging in training and education of middle and junior grade doctors.

  • Awareness of 2ww/62 day cancer standards
  • Awareness of RTT/18 week standards
  • Clinical engagement in waiting list validation (i.e. virtual clinics, PTL validation)
