A well-established local authority in the West Midlands is looking to appoint a Locum Civil Litigation Legal Officer on a full-time basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a mixed civil litigation caseload, with a strong emphasis on debt recovery matters. The role sits within a supportive legal services team and requires the ability to handle files independently while working collaboratively with internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied civil litigation caseload
• Handling debt recovery litigation from pre-action through to conclusion
• Drafting pleadings, legal documentation, and correspondence
• Providing clear and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders
• Attending court and hearings where required

About You

• Demonstrable experience in civil litigation
• Debt recovery experience highly desirable
• Previous local authority experience advantageous but not essential
• Confident working autonomously and managing competing deadlines
