  • Local Land Charges Officer

    Pay: £13.47 per hour

    Working hours: Monday -Friday, 20 hours per week

    Location: Thrapston, NN14 4LZ, Hybrid (post training)

    Length: 3 months

    Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a Local Land Charges Officer to join their Regulatory Services. As a Local Land Charges Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a professional, customer-focused Local Land Charges (LLC) service and provide support with a range of administrative tasks.

    Your typical duties will be:

    • Receiving, validating, and processing official and personal Local Land Charge searches accurately and within required timeframes
    • responding to customer inquiries.
    • Calculating search fees and ensuring correct charges are applied.
    • Supporting the transfer of the register to HM Land Registry and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
    • Maintaining databases and filing systems and managing queries received via the shared email mailbox, ensuring timely resolution
    • Supporting the Local Land Charges Programme, including data discovery, data cleansing and digitisation activities.
    • Playing a key role in service improvement, innovation, and identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience.

    The perfect candidate will:

    • Have experience working in a busy office environment and delivering customer-facing services.
    • Be organised, accurate and able to work to tight deadlines.
    • Be confident using IT systems and able to quickly learn new software.
    • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team.
    • Be able to build positive working relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners.
    • Be flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of local land charges, planning or conveyancing processes.
