Whitehouse Community Primary School is a flagship IQM school with a strong commitment to supporting all children to develop a love of reading.
We are seeking a dedicated Librarian to promote a culture of reading for pleasure throughout the school and support the acquisition of early reading skills. As a flagship IQM inclusive school, we value diversity, creativity and high expectations for every child.
As a librarian, supported by our experienced team, you will play a key role in:- leading our vibrant school libraries and creating a welcoming space for all
- promoting reading for pleasure
- supporting the early reading (Little Wandle) programme
- organising and running exciting events, from author visits to book fairs
- work closely with the English curriculum team and benefit from a school-wide passion for reading.

- Qualifications: Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience: Experience working in a library or educational setting, and promoting reading and literacy to children
- Skills: Knowledge of children's literature, strong organisational skills, ability to use library management systems and maintain accurate records (including AR data)
- Personal qualities: Passionate about reading, welcoming and inclusive, able to work independently and as part of a team, committed to safeguarding
