Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant - Severe & Complex Needs

Location: Sheffield

Pay: £100-£125 per day, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time Term Time Only

The Role
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with severe SEN
  • Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
  • Providing a calm, nurturing and reassuring presence throughout the school day
  • Helping pupils regulate their emotions and manage behaviours of concern
  • Supporting pupils to develop independence and confidence
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Following individual support, behaviour and education plans
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider specialist staff
  • Creating positive relationships with pupils and celebrating their progress
What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with severe, profound or complex SEN
  • Experience within a specialist SEN school, care setting or similar environment
  • A naturally nurturing, patient and caring approach
  • The ability to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • The resilience required to work with pupils who may require very high levels of support
  • Experience supporting children with complex autism, SLD, PMLD, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour would be highly desirable
