Level 1 Engineer - Manchester

Job Title: Level 1 Engineer (Ad-Hoc/Contract)
Location: Manchester (various sites)
Contract Type: Ad-hoc/Day Rate/Short-Term Contracts
Rate: Competitive, DOE

We're looking for reliable Level 1 Engineers to support ad-hoc and contract work across Manchester. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, practical, and comfortable working on-site supporting installs and basic network tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with AV installations (screens, projectors, meeting room kit)

• Repatching cabinets and tidying comms rooms

• Installing and replacing wireless access points

• Basic troubleshooting of connectivity and hardware issues

• Supporting senior engineers on-site

• Following site instructions and health & safety requirements

• Completing simple job reports or sign-offs

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a Level 1/junior IT or cabling role

• Hands-on experience with AV installs, repatching, and access points

• Basic understanding of networking and structured cabling

• Comfortable working independently on client sites

• Good communication and a professional attitude

• Punctual, reliable, and flexible with short-notice work

Desirable:

• ECS/CSCS card

• Experience in offices, schools, or commercial sites

• Own basic tools

• Ability to travel around Manchester easily
