Leisure Attendant

We're looking for a Leisure Attendant to assist the Sports Centre Manager in the smooth running of the centre, taking charge of the site on a daily basis and ensuring it provides excellent customer services while maintaining the safety of staff and customers. The Leisure Officer will carry out daily tasks ranging from lifeguarding, running reception, managing memberships, dealing with customer questions, cleaning and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sports Centre Manager in developing customer relationships and creating a quality customer experience.
• Ensure the highest standard of customer care and service delivery within the centre.
• Deal with complaints and issues and work with the Sports Centre Manager to resolve them.
• Carry out lifeguarding duties in line with centre and national standards as part of daily shift duties.
• Complete required training in line with National Guidance to remain competent.
• Work shifts including weekends and be available to manage the centre across shifts.
• Maintain safety for customers and staff, minimising health and safety risks.
• Lead by example, setting standards for zero hour lifeguard staff.
• Assist in delivery of centre swimming lessons when required.
• Perform membership sales and administration tasks competently.
• Manage stock and report any shortages.
• Collaborate on new initiatives and ideas with the Sports Centre Manager.
• Hold key to the centre and secure the site at the end of shift.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and demonstrate visible leadership.
• Deliver gym inductions and fitness testing, giving advice to customers and staff.

Qualifications

• In possession of, or in the process of gaining, an RLSS NPLQ qualification.
• Preferred experience within the leisure industry or a related role.
• Interest in sport and the leisure industry.
• Requirement to obtain an advanced DBS certificate prior to offer.
• Competent swimmer.
