We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a substantial background in Child Care Law, who has experience in leading a team of professionals supporting Child Care Law, Adult Social Care, and SEND. This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of our Children and Community Services Team and Legal Services. We seek an innovative individual capable of working at pace, who is positive and solution-focused.

As well as leading a team, you will provide high-quality legal advice, guidance, and representation to our client departments on a wide range of matters related to child protection legislation.

We want a leader who demonstrates professionalism, can work under pressure, is adaptable to client needs, and possesses excellent communication skills. The ability to work effectively at all levels across the council, including with elected members, senior leadership, and other stakeholders, is essential.

You must be a qualified solicitor/barrister or CILEX, with or entitled to a practising certificate, and have significant post-qualification and advocacy experience.
