Job Description

Job description location: London, GB.
Responsibilities- Support the Executive Director, International Employment and Compliance with all employee matters, including employee relations, employment lifecycle documentation and compliance across international markets.
- Provide advice and support on all types of employment and labour law work across all international markets.
- Partner with the global Condé Nast People Team to ensure internal legal best practices for managing employee relations.
- Support employee investigations and advise on individual and collective consultation processes.
- Provide advice on diversity and inclusion issues within the workforce.
- Support day to day employment matters such as contract templates, disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancy and restructuring; oversee employment contracts and exit paperwork where appropriate.
- Assist the People Team in addressing workforce representation issues, including works councils and other representative bodies.
- Keep up to date with relevant legal and regulatory updates and advise on changes in local law or regulation that may impact policies and procedures.
- Support the Executive Director on employment litigation matters.
- Respond to people compliance queries, issues, investigations and queries from auditors and regulators.
- Prepare and help draft guidance and training materials on employment law and compliance matters.
- Work with the Business & Legal Affairs team on instructing and monitoring UK visa applications and on compliance issues related to the UK visa sponsorship licence, including record keeping and reporting changes alongside external partners.
- Work with the Business & Legal Affairs team to enable the global mobility internal policy application, support global immigration requirements and liaise with relevant external third parties.
- Manage external counsel where appropriate.
- Qualified legal professional with at least 2 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE) preferred.
- Passionate about the media industry.
- Strong experience in UK and International Employment law gained in private practice or in house role similar to CondéNast.
- Demonstrated experience working with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and advising the People Team and business stakeholders on legal, compliance and regulatory implications of deploying AI in the workplace, including data privacy, risk mitigation and policy development.
- Experience handling international employment law issues such as consultations, employee relations, internal investigations and disciplinary matters.
- Ability to coordinate investigations in Europe and APAC markets.
- Additional experience in ethical compliance matters and working with company compliance policies is preferred.
- Preferential experience advising or managing immigration matters.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to present legal advice in a pragmatic, problem solving and commercial manner.
- Proficiency in European international languages is preferred.
- Confident, self starter who welcomes the opportunity to develop strong relationships.
- Positive "can do" attitude and willingness to work flexibly as part of an evolving team.
