Legal Counsel

This position will be responsible for a broad range of activities and legal matters in respect of the firm's London-based operations and across the wider firm as necessary to support the UK and European business strategy. It will be a member of the EMEA Legal team and the Global Legal and Compliance team, working with a variety of internal colleagues and external parties. The role is based in London and is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities- Provide legal support to the firm's business, including client solutions, investment, research, and operations in respect of the London office, to support the firm's EMEA strategy.
- Draft and negotiate agreements, including investment management, advisory and non disclosure for clients of the London office, as well as vendor and other ancillary agreements.
- Provide legal support to the wider firm to support global strategy and to internal units such as Human Capital, Operations, Finance, and IT.
- Work with compliance and risk teams, advising on regulatory and governance matters.
- Handle other ad hoc legal matters as required.
- England and Wales qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE at a silver circle, magic circle, top City US firm, or reputable asset manager (on an in house basis).
- Preferred experience in alternative investment services, separate accounts, funds and/or fund formation (private equity, debt and hedge funds); representing institutional clients and/or managers in primary, secondary, and direct transactions.
- Experience in corporate governance or human resources/employment matters.
- Strong communication skills, ability to interact with peers and external contacts in a tactful and professional manner.
- Capacity to manage multiple legal projects and resolve them effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in operating across jurisdictions and financial regulatory frameworks, with a curiosity to continue learning.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information discretely.
- Strong judgment, leadership skills, and a delivery oriented attitude.
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
Base salary range: Minimum £127,100 - Maximum £170,300. In addition to the listed salary range, the position is eligible for an annual performance based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
