Job Description:

We empower organizations to navigate the complexities of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI adoption. As a company at the forefront of AI regulation and ethical AI, we are seeking a Part-Time Legal Counsel to ensure our operations, solutions, and partnerships align with evolving global AI and data protection laws.

Location: Remote
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 (annualized, based on part-time hours)

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance on AI governance, data privacy, and emerging AI regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor and interpret AI-related laws and compliance frameworks, with a focus on EU (GDPR, AI Act), UK, UAE, and KSA regulatory landscapes.
• Advise on compliance requirements for AI deployment, risk mitigation strategies, and ethical AI practices.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, NDAs, and data processing agreements in line with global privacy and AI laws.
• Assist in developing internal AI and data policies that align with legal and ethical best practices.
• Support HUX AI in engagements with regulators, industry bodies, and stakeholders on AI compliance matters.
• Conduct legal risk assessments on AI products and services, ensuring alignment with global AI governance standards.
• Educate internal teams on AI ethics, data privacy, and risk management through training sessions and legal updates.
• Provide legal support for partnerships, product development, and corporate matters within AI compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-6+ years of legal experience, with a focus on AI, data protection, and technology law.
• Deep knowledge of EU GDPR, AI Act, UK data and AI laws, UAE (ADGM, DIFC) regulations, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia data/AI frameworks.
• Experience advising on AI compliance, algorithmic accountability, and ethical AI frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cross-border data transfers, regulatory reporting, and AI-related contract negotiation.
• Ability to develop and implement legal policies and compliance frameworks for AI-driven solutions.
• Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and regulatory interpretation skills.
• Experience working with startups, technology firms, or AI governance-focused companies preferred.
• Passion for AI governance, ethics, and the legal landscape shaping AI adoption worldwide.
