Job Description

Games Workshop is recruiting for an exciting and rare opportunity for an Intellectual Property Legal Counsel. We're looking for someone who is a commercially astute qualified solicitor who has a passion and drive to provide outstanding legal support to Games Workshop. It's exciting times here and we're looking for someone who is a specialist in Intellectual Property law and wants to join a fast paced team.

Using your technical knowledge and keen eye for detail, we'll look to you to prepare and finalise intellectual property licensing agreements, as well as evaluating digital distribution agreements including website and app terms, and negotiating IP commissioning arrangements.

Not only will you excel in copyright and trademark law, but you'll have great people skills and thrive in a business where collaboration is key. You'll develop an understanding of our business and ways of working to advise marketing and media departments across copyright, music rights and talent advice, venue hire contracts, global supplier arrangements and consumer regulatory compliance, including marketing standards.

You'll always take into consideration the interests of individual departments and Games Workshop collectively as you offer counsel on established industry best practice and media initiatives for branding strategies. This may mean instructing external counsel and maintaining a portfolio of legal advice to support departmental efficiencies. It's key that you have advanced skills in building sustainable relationships as you'll work closely across internal departments including Marketing, Media, Licensing, and Publishing, as well as liaising with third parties.

We're looking for someone who has good commercial experience within Copyright and Trademark law and can operate at pace and shift gears quickly within the context of a changing business environment. You'll be a qualified solicitor who has been admitted in England and Wales, with previous experience working with brand licensing and negotiating intellectual property licensing documents.
