The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and highly motivated individual to teach on a range of Science courses including GCSE Chemistry, BTEC Level 2, & BTEC Level 3 Applied Science. With recent successful experience of teaching in a post-16 setting, the ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant science discipline and hold a recognised teaching qualification.

• 22.2 hours per week (0.6)
• Permanent
• £26,386 - £51,931 per annum (depending on qualification and experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and employ a variety of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, monitor learner progress and provide effective feedback throughout the academic year
• Contribute to team meetings and have a positive impact on the overall quality of this subject area
• Ensure excellence in teaching and learning

About you:

• Recent successful experience of teaching in a post-16 setting
• Possess a professional qualification or first degree in relevant area or equivalent.
• Hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised teaching qualification
• Enthusiastic and committed individual who can engage, inspire and challenge all learners to achieve their individual potential
• Good organisational and problem solving skills and will be prepared to work flexibly
• TA knowledge of the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales specification and the ability to support learners completing the Individual Project in Science related disciplines would be advantageous.
