Taking Teaching Further & Additional IncentivesIf you're making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.
In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government's targeted retention incentive (formerly "levelling-up premium") payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.
Please note eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider, they do not apply to every vacancy.
About The CandidateThe successful candidate will be an outstanding versatile teaching practitioner, from industry or new to teaching, with relevant vocational and leadership competence within the education and care sector. You will be able to lead a programme of study and monitor and track your learners. You will possess the ability to deliver high quality classes, with high expectations, that enthuse and inspire learners and best prepare them for their next steps.
You will have access to deliver sessions within industry standard classrooms and have access to our Innovation Centre which is home to an Immersive 360 Igloo and a Motion Capture studio.
You will either possess or be willing to work towards a Teaching Qualification.
About The RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an Education , Early years or SEND specialist join our ambitious team at Sunderland College as a Lecturer and Programme Lead within our community and engagement team. We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual that will use their industry experience and knowledge to inspire learners to have lifelong careers in this key sector. The successful candidate will teach across our 16-19 study programmes and inspire the future of the early years workforce.
Role Responsibilities- Delivery of curriculum.
- Assessment of student learning.
- Provision of support for student learning.
- Maintenance of appropriate records and documentation.
- Maintenance of appropriate continuing professional development and general aspects of role.
- Development of curriculum.
- Evaluation of curriculum.
- Educated to level 5 in a relevant industry area to education and early years subjects.
- Level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
- Level 2 in English and Maths
