Job Description
Role responsibilities:
  • Develop students' learning working within small groups and at times on a one-to-one basis, with a specific emphasis on specialist support in Science.
  • Support Science up to A level (desirable, not essential).
  • Set and mark appropriately differentiated work.
  • Liaise with the Head of LS on the needs and progress of individual pupils.
  • Maintain close liaison with parents.
  • Maintain full lesson plans and records appropriate to each student, including files showing attainment and progress.
  • Attend LS parents' evenings.
  • Co ordinate with Heads of Department, houseparents and tutors on any students of mutual concern.
Essential experience, skills and qualities
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Have previous experience of supporting and developing children with a range of learning needs.
  • Be innovative, proactive, organised and place the needs of young people at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Have a genuine interest in ensuring every pupil reaches their potential, with an understanding approach to working with students who have specific difficulties.
  • Have a very strong work ethic and commitment to getting work done to a high standard and within tight timeframes.
  • Recognise individual student needs, promote transferable skills and build confidence.
  • Work well in a team and take initiative where appropriate.
  • Be flexible - a key attribute for this role.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30.
