About the Role

We are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work in schools across Bridgend. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing environment and make a real difference to their education and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN)
• Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
• Help manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Support pupils during lessons, break times, and school activities
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to track pupil progress

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of additional learning needs (ALN) (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willing to register)
