About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping students build confidence, develop life skills and achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible. Whether you're supporting learning in the classroom, helping students regulate their emotions, or celebrating a breakthrough moment, your impact will be seen and felt every single day.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants a career where no two days are the same. Previous school experience is welcome, but we are equally keen to hear from candidates with experience in care, support work, youth work, coaching, mentoring, residential care or similar people-focused roles.

Working as part of a dedicated team of teachers, therapists and specialist professionals, you'll help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every student can thrive.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting students in the classroom, on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Building positive relationships that help students feel safe, valued and confident.
  • Encouraging engagement in learning and supporting students to achieve their individual goals.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent support and guidance.
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver personalised support.
  • Celebrating progress, developing independence and helping students build essential life skills.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What you will bring

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and young people succeed.
  • Patience, resilience and a calm, positive approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A proactive, caring and adaptable attitude.
  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
