This is not a purely classroom:based role. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with pupils who require additional help to engage with learning, develop independence and build confidence throughout the school day.
With a strong focus on individual progress and positive relationships, the school offers an excellent environment for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or an ambitious graduate looking to develop a career in education.
What Will Your Role Look Like?As a Learning Support Assistant, you may be working one:to:one with an individual pupil, supporting small groups or assisting within the classroom, depending on the needs of the children.
Your Responsibilities Will Include- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs and SEND
- Delivering structured small:group activities and interventions
- Helping children access lessons through adapted resources and targeted support
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and emotional development
- Building trusting, professional relationships with pupils
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support staff
The role will provide genuine variety, with the Learning Support Assistant becoming an important and valued part of the wider school team.
Who Would Suit This Learning Support Assistant Role?Were looking for someone with a genuine interest in helping children succeed. Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEND Support Worker or in a similar child:focused role would be highly beneficial.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be- Patient, confident and able to use their own initiative
- Comfortable supporting children with different learning and communication needs
- Consistent in their approach while remaining warm and encouraging
- A strong communicator and effective team player
- Keen to learn and develop their skills
The school is also interested in graduates considering future careers in teaching, educational psychology or specialist SEND support.
