Long Term Futures is working in partnership with an Outstanding Further Education college in Burton upon Trent to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support learners aged 16+ across a range of academic and vocational subjects. This role involves providing targeted one-to-one and small group in-class support, with a particular focus on GCSE Maths, GCSE English, and vocational learning programmes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group in-class support for learners aged 16+ across GCSE English, GCSE Maths, and a range of vocational subjects
- Support learners to access the curriculum by adapting learning activities and encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual support strategies and help learners achieve their academic and personal goals
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and learner wellbeing within a supportive and inclusive Further Education environment
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback to tutors and curriculum teams to support achievement and successful outcomes
- A patient, approachable, and supportive individual with a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff
- Confident supporting learners with a range of additional learning needs across both academic and vocational subjects
- Well organised, adaptable, and able to use initiative in a fast-paced Further Education environment
- Committed to promoting inclusion, safeguarding, learner wellbeing, and high expectations for every student
