CONTRACT TYPE: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Full Time

LOCATION: Flexible (London or Birmingham preferable)

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,500 - £56,000 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

In partnership with our approved suppliers the BBC Academy, this is a unique opportunity to help managers explore what it means to be an Enterprise Leader, supporting their learning with a range of development opportunities.

You'll play a key operational role within the BBC's Leadership Development team, working at pace to ensure that all managers develop the skills, knowledge and mindset to lead themselves, their teams and the BBC.

You'll be working with leaders at all levels across the BBC, supporting them to reach their potential and deliver the BBC's strategic and cultural ambitions.

As a Learning Specialist you will be able to communicate our leadership development offer with confidence, passion and energy and you'll enjoy working in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for planning and organising the smooth delivery of our programmes and workshops, working with suppliers to ensure they are scheduled and delivered to high standards and on budget. You'll play a role in reviewing and evaluating the impact of the learning and analysing key data points.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

Supports the Leadership Development team in delivering learning and development initiatives by coordinating with suppliers, managing logistics, and ensuring timely, budget-conscious execution. Oversees course scheduling, communications, and payments to maintain a high-quality participant experience. Evaluates programme effectiveness through data collection and analysis, and may provide on-site support to ensure smooth delivery.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • You need to be passionate about changing the culture of the BBC and excited about the role learning and development can play in this.
  • You'll need to be adaptable in the face of conflicting priorities and demands, able to stay focused on project goals, while remaining positive and flexible in the face of uncertainty and change.
  • You'll need excellent communication skills and the confidence to deliver key messages at a senior level.
  • You'll be able to build trusted relationship with suppliers, stakeholders and other colleagues within the Academy and wider business.

You'll enjoy identifying opportunities for collaboration, role-modelling enterprise working and focusing on value for all.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end logistics of learning interventions, including scheduling, supplier coordination, venue booking, and timely communications ensuring seamless execution within budget and timelines.
  • Strong relational skills to build trust and credibility with internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external suppliers, ensuring collaborative and productive partnerships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey key messages to senior audiences and influence outcomes through negotiation and persuasive dialogue.
  • Competence in gathering, analysing, and interpreting course feedback and impact data to improve learning solutions and support business outcomes.
  • Resilience and flexibility in managing shifting priorities and navigating change, while consistently delivering a high level of customer service to learners and partners.
