Location: Position available across all SeeAbility regions (Oxfordshire, Bristol, Devon, Hampshire, Surrey, and Kent) Salary: £12.12 per hour + Benefits Hours: Various - Part time Contract: Bank

Job Summary

SeeAbility is a charity supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and sight loss in the UK. We are seeking an Oliver McGowan mandatory training expert with professional or lived experience of autism and confidence speaking in front of groups.

You will support training health and social care colleagues to better understand the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism. You will collaborate with other trainers, including those with lived experience, to deliver sessions that are open, honest, and easy to understand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sharing your experience of a learning disability during training sessions
  • Delivering the Oliver McGowan mandatory training
  • Ensuring training is respectful, clear, and inclusive of diverse perspectives
  • Engaging with participants and answering questions
  • Helping others improve support for people with learning disabilities and autism

Required Skills:

  • Personal experience of a learning disability
  • Comfortable speaking in groups and sharing your story
  • Belief in fair and respectful treatment for all
  • Friendly and open demeanor
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel for work
  • Capacity to participate in 3-hour training sessions
