Job Purpose

This is a key role reporting to the Network Performance Manager within the water network. The role allows Water Networks to deliver against its strategic targets by the delivery against the Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS), Leakage Customer and Efficiency targets within the regulatory framework. This role is pivotal in helping United Utilities Water Network achieve its vision. You'll ensure that high quality information is produced that enables effective and efficient management of our water resources by identifying areas for leakage detection through analysis of flow, pressure and consumption data playing a critical part in allowing UU to achieve its company leakage target.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for is analysis and interpretation of flow and pressure data to ensure effective and efficient management of our Pressure management valves:

  • Ensure all reported information is reliable, accurate, and complete by collecting, processing, and analysing data from Operations, Asset Management, and Delivery teams.
  • Monitor pressure changes and coordinate timely reactive maintenance, while producing DMA and upstream leakage reports for Network Operations.
  • Act as a local expert user for Netbase and INS systems, ensuring asset data is correctly maintained on corporate platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Supply and Demand team to verify data accuracy in leakage reporting systems and support resource effectiveness through data insights.
  • Schedule detection team activities, review consumption data for accuracy, and ensure all work complies with Health and Safety legislation, including dynamic risk assessments.

Technical Skills & Experience

You'll have an understanding of water network connectivity, pressure control and leakage detection methods as well as understanding the impact Leakage has on UUs vision to be a world class operator of utility infrastructure. You'll also:

  • Be proactive and confident in the way you deal with work and in dealing with the wider team.
  • Have the ability to manage own workload and work on own initiative to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to work as a team to deliver high performance and have a proven record of achieving goals, objectives and scorecard measures.
  • Have working experience of Microsoft office applications inc advanced excel knowledge.
  • Demonstrate experience/ understanding of Netbase, Watercore (or other trending software), Onemap.
  • Have significant operational experience in/ a working understanding of the water industry or suitable transferrable skills in analytics.
  • Demonstrate the competency to work as part of a high performance team whilst.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role you'll need to be educated to a good standard - minimum ONC or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate good technical understanding
