Job Description

Purpose of the Post.

  • Receive workplace experiences and support to complete a higher qualification and develop into a leader and expert in the field.
  • The service is responsible for administering the Gwynedd Pension Fund by managing and paying benefits, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance and sound governance, and overseeing the performance of the fund's investments.

Main Duties
  • Ensure robust governance and compliance for the Gwynedd Pension Fund by leading on statutory requirements, managing risk, supporting the Committee and Board, and co ordinating communications and investment processes.
  • The role includes leading on the fund's statutory and governance framework, managing risk and compliance, supporting the Committee and Board, coordinating communication with stakeholders, integrating ESG principles, and driving projects and process improvements.
  • The main duties of the role will be to:
    • Lead on the application of the statutory framework and ensure full compliance with the requirements of the Pensions Regulator.
    • Monitor legislative changes, assess their impact and advise senior management and the Committee.
    • Ensure that statutory documents, policies and governance processes are up-to-date and of high quality.
    • Supporting the Committee and Board by providing governance advice, preparing papers and co ordinating meetings.
    • Lead on risk management, develop the risk register and co ordinate internal and external audits.
    • Manage communication with stakeholders and ensure that statutory information is accurate and timely.
    • Integrate ESG principles and support investment governance through performance analysis and risk advice.
    • Follow the Council's policies in relation to health and safety, equality, data protection and carbon reduction.
