JOB OVERVIEW

Our client is a leading commercial real estate advisory and services provider, supporting large institutional investors, global corporations, and other owners and occupiers. Their mission is to make leasing, buying, and selling properties across the retail, office, multifamily, industrial, student housing, and hospitality sectors easier and more efficient.

The organization brings together deep market expertise and technology to guide clients through every stage of the real estate lifecycle, creating better outcomes for all stakeholders. Recently, the group acquired a premier UK-based chartered surveying and property consultancy, which is now undergoing transformation and alignment with the broader global organization.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Engineer to join this global real estate technology program. This is a hands on role with an approximate 70/30 split between engineering delivery and team leadership, offering the opportunity to both design and build complex solutions while leading a high-performing POD.

In this role, you will work across the UK technology portfolio and EU initiatives, collaborating closely with software engineers and QA professionals from the India Centre of Excellence (COE) to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
  • Lead a POD of developers and QA, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements across UK and EU projects
  • Act as a hands on technical lead, contributing robust, production ready code and guiding solution architecture and best practices
  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and cross functional stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure solutions meet business goals
  • Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and focused technical upskilling within the POD
  • Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, QA practices, and DevOps integration
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture across global teams, including strong engagement with India COE resources
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks or roadblocks affecting delivery and team productivity
  • Contribute to technical documentation, architecture reviews, and stakeholder updates as required
IF YOU HAVE
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering roles, with recent hands on technical leadership responsibilities
  • Proven track record delivering business critical solutions in distributed, agile environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Demonstrable expertise in architecting, building, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of legacy systems built in ASP.NET / .NET frameworks and their modernisation
  • Familiarity with global team collaboration and the ability to work effectively across time zones
  • Experience with real estate, property technology, or digital transformation projects
  • Background in mentoring geographically distributed engineering teams
  • Any experience with Crystal Reports (.NET reporting), Mapper, Wilson, LINQ, .NET Forms is beneficial
  • Hands on exposure to DevOps, CI/CD automation, and software quality assurance best practices
  • Previous work on enterprise initiatives in the UK, EU, or across multiple regions
