Lead Skills For Life Tutor

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £38,480 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role

Our Client seeks to employ a Lead Skills for Life Tutor to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 for overall effectiveness and Grade 1 for both Behaviour & Attitudes and Personal Development in December 2022.

Key Responsibilities

Tutors are responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of learning programmes within the appropriate curriculum area(s).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE),
  • Certificate of Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access arrangements (CPT3A),or be prepared to work towards and achieve it.
  • A Level 3, A Level or equivalent qualification in English and Maths and a Level 4 subject specialism in both Literacy and Numeracy.
  • A Level 2 ED&I qualification, and experience of teaching Functional Skills English and Mathematics at Level 1 and 2 and GCSE English and / or Mathematics.
  • You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team.
  • You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful.
